I wash and style my hair on Saturdays
- Co-wash with As I am Coconut Co-Wash
- Detangle with Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Conditioner
- Deep condition once a week with Yes to Blueberries Healthy Hair Repair
- I steam with the deep conditioner in my hair with the Huetiful Steamer
- I then apply my leave in conditioner (Paul Mitchell The Conditioner or Kinky Curly Knot Today)
- I use Eco Styler clear gel to style (Eco Styler is the only gel I have used since being natural. I have tried the Krystal, Olive Oil & the Argan Oil versions)
Note: since I work out alot, I DO wash with a sulfate free shampoo (once a month or as needed).
My faves are:
Kinky Curly Come Clean
Mixed Chicks Sulfate Free Shampoo
Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose Shampoo
Also, I do use Kinky Curly Knot Today as a leave in and Kinky Curly Curling Custard as my styler when I am doing a wash and go with Kinky Curly products (as Kinky Curly products do NOT mix well with other products)
My girls C & M
-I currently wash their hair and deep condition once a week (usually Saturday)
-I detangle with Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
-After detangling with my fingers and a wide tooth comb (if needed), I apply leave in conditioner
-I moisturize their hair then style
(I will be braiding T's hair more often so that it can grow.)
I do styles like this on T which can last two weeks or more (because I get crazy busy sometimes)
I band C's hair like this to keep it detangled. She likes it like this because she likes the colors
When either girl wears her curls out I will use either Kinky Curly Curling Custard or Eco Styler Gel on her hair. (Preferably Eco Styler because it is less messy and less expensive)
Products used:
Mixed Chicks Sulfate Free Shampoo or Kinky Curly Come Clean
Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner
Mixed Chicks Deep Conditioner
Paul Mitchell the Conditioner or Kinky-Curly Knot today as leave in (mixed with coconut oil)
Design Essentials Daily Moisturizing Lotion
Kinky Curly Curling Custard or Eco Styler Gel
NOTE: I get my style inspirations from Beads, Braids and Beyond because I am just learning how to braid and because I am not artistic enough to come up with styles on my own. (my mom is incredible at braiding but I didn't inherit that gene from her. LOL)
